Okay, I try to find different ways to make the little one have fruits. Not that she does not like fruits or that she is a fussy-eater, however at times it is really difficult to feed her the healthy food. This is the point where comes the healthy treats. The girl loves chilled beverages and ice cream and I make a lot of those at home using healthy ingredients. Thee days I am making the Strawberry Banana Smoothie quite regularly now that the strawberries are in season.
The Strawberry Banana Smoothie is quite easy to make and needless to say it tastes good. Though you can have it chilled as well as in-room temperature, considering Pasta’s preference I serve it chilled. You for sure can use Milk or Icecream to make the smoothie, however, I use plain curd or yogurt whichever available. Pasta hates plain curd and hence I try to incorporate it in her meal indirectly.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie and my preference for fresh ingredients!
I prefer to use fresh strawberries, banana and also homemade curd or yogurt to make it. Not that strawberry preserves cannot be used or storebought curd or yogurt can not be used, however, those do not make it tastier or healthier.
I mostly make it for breakfast. The process is easy and it takes me hardly 10 minutes to make the smoothie. It saves time while Mehebub packs Pasta’s tiffin and also ours for office lunch. The Strawberry Banana Smoothie is quite heavy and enough as breakfast. I generally don’t make it beforehand and fridge it. Instead, I use chilled yogurt and fruits to make it.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie is a filling and healthy drink prepared with fresh strawberries and banana along with plain yogurt.
Ingredients
- Strawberries: 200g
- Banana: 2
- Plain Curd/ Yogurt: 150ml
- Fresh Cream: 100ml
- Honey: 1 Tbsp.
Instructions
- Take all the ingredients except honey chilled for making the smoothie.
- Remove the skin of the bananas.
- Roughly chop strawberries as well as bananas.
- leave a few chunks for garnishing and use rest for making the smoothie.
- Take those in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Now add Curd as well as fresh cream followed by the honey and blend again.
- Blend till the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour in a glass and top with banana and strawberry chunk while serving.
Notes
Instead of fresh strawberries, you can use preserve as well.
You can substitute honey with sugar or jaggery or completely skip it. The fruits are naturally sweet so it will taste good.
I prefer using homemade curd or yogurt. You can for sure use storebought curd or yogurt.
