I try to find different ways to get the little one to eat fruits. It's not that she dislikes fruits or is a picky eater, but sometimes it's challenging to feed her healthy food. This is where healthy treats come into play. The girl loves chilled drinks and ice cream, so I make a lot of those at home using healthy ingredients. These days, I'm making the Strawberry Banana Smoothie quite frequently now that strawberries are in season.
The Strawberry Banana Smoothie is quite easy to make and tastes delicious. Although you can have it chilled or at room temperature, considering the child's preference, I serve it chilled. You can use milk or ice cream to make the smoothie, but I use plain curd or yogurt, whichever is available. The child dislikes plain curd, so I try to incorporate it into her meals indirectly.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie and my preference for fresh ingredients!
I prefer to use fresh strawberries, bananas, and homemade curd or yogurt to make the smoothie. While strawberry preserves or store-bought curd or yogurt can be used, they do not make the smoothie tastier or healthier. I mostly prepare the smoothie for breakfast, as it is easy to make and takes only about 10 minutes. This saves time while Mehebub packs the tiffin for Pasta and our office lunch. The Strawberry Banana Smoothie is quite filling and sufficient for breakfast. I generally do not make it in advance and store it in the fridge. Instead, I use chilled yogurt and fruits to prepare it.
Here's how I make Strawberry Banana Smoothie at Debjanir Rannaghar!
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 200 h Strawberries
- 2 Banana
- 150 ml Plain Curd/ Yogurt
- 100 ml Fresh Cream
- 1 tablespoon Honey
Instructions
- Take all the ingredients except honey chilled to make the smoothie.
- Remove the skin of the bananas.
- Roughly chop strawberries as well as bananas.
- leave a few chunks for garnishing and use the rest to make the smoothie.
- Take those in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Now add Curd as well as fresh cream followed by the honey and blend again.
- Blend till the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour in a glass and top with banana and strawberry chunk while serving.

Notes
- Instead of fresh strawberries, you can use preserve as well.
- You can substitute honey with sugar or jaggery or completely skip it. The fruits are naturally sweet so they will taste good.
- I prefer using homemade curd or yogurt. You can for sure use store-bought curd or yogurt.
