I was invited to attend the launch of Bodega Cantina Y Bar and this post is planned for the review for the same but to my surprise I am more interested to write about my experience instead of a typical review! Blogger’s meet are nothing new in the city but there are really less number of Restaurant’s or Hotel chain or PR agencies who actually think about the marketing part and this is what impressed me more about Bodega and their management. Smooth arrangement, proper invitation, and smart managerial skills; yes apart from good food and classy ambiance you need those as well. It is more of my professional background rather the blogger part of mine is satisfied with their managerial skills. One of my finest experiences of dealing with a smart group of people so far in terms of restaurant review!

When asked about how Bodega Cantina Y Bar happened what I found is when two like minded met; when they discuss their food for thought; I don’t know about others but Urvika Kanoi’s and Akashh Jaiswal’s food for thought ended on a resto-bar for the City of joy; Bodega Cantina Y Bar it is. Quite a unique combo they are, where Akashh is not from a culinary background but exposed to global cuisine and one the other hand Urvika skipped Film school and choose cooking school which obviously justify her passion for food.
As they say “Pehle darshandhari Phir goon bichari” and here I am with my experience of both the ambiance and quality of Bodega Cantina Y Bar. Spread across 2700 sq feet are, Bodega is divided in to two floors where the ground floor is a bar with modern interior and first floor is with a classy setup. Bodega is Kolkata’s one of the first venture that is offering community table set up where people can interact; can share stories!
Coming to the menu, Bodega is offering Spanish, Mexican and Asian food presently and have tried quite a few of their offering during the launch and my special mentions are both veg and Laal-Maas Tacos, Chicken Crosstie, Onion Spring rolls. Mediterranean platter and glass fried potatoes were however not much impressive.
Coming to the beverages, I am quite impressed with their selection especially when it comes to the cocktails! Moderately priced and decent taste! Great Gatsby and Bengali Mari are worth trying!
Their dessert offering is just classy and the presentation part is amazing. Bodega is planning for a special menu for the kiddos which I found really adorable on their part!
