Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Chickpea/ Kabuli Chana: 2 cup
  • Tahini : 1 Cup
  • Red Bell Pepper: 1
  • Garlic: 7-8 clove
  • Lemon Juice: 2 Tbsp.
  • Paprika: 1 Tsp.
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 Tsp.
  • Olive Oil: 1/2 cup
  • Salt: 1 Tsp.


Instructions

  1. Soak Chickpeas overnight or for 4-5 hours in plain water along with ½ Tsp. Salt.
  2. Take soaked Chickpeas in a pressure Cooker and add water and the boil till 4 whistles comes from the cooker. Let the cooker cooled completely and then remove the lid and strain the water.
  3. Deseed the Red Bell Pepper and Roast it on medium flame for around 5 minutes or till it turn soft and then let the pepper cool.
  4. Remove the skin completely from the pepper.
  5. Now take Boiled Chickpeas, Roasted Bell Pepper, Tahini , Garlic, Lemon Juice, half of the Paprika, Black Pepper, Olive Oil and ½ Tsp. Salt in a food processor and make a smooth paste. You may add some more oil and little water in the paste.
  6. What else!
  7. Hummus with Roasted Bell Pepper is ready..
  8. Hummus is a nutritious dip and can be used while making sandwiches and can be served with Pita Bread.
